What is RFA?
Preventative mental health training for everyone.
Resilience First Aid (RFA) is a double-accredited, peer-reviewed mental health certification that teaches strength-based skills to build resilience in others. Built on the Predictive 6 Factor Resilience Model (PR6) — the world's leading evidence-based resilience framework — RFA gives participants the language, knowledge and practical skills to proactively support the mental wellness of those around them.
Nine out of ten people can benefit from increasing their resilience skills. Rather than waiting until people need professional treatment, RFA takes a preventative approach — equipping participants to spot signs of low resilience early, have conversations that matter, and actively build mental fitness in their communities and workplaces.
Research shows RFA has an immediate impact: boosting personal resilience by 14%, with suicide prevention skills increasing by 30% after certification. Delivered over two days (14 hours), RFA is available face-to-face, on-site, or online — and is accredited by Suicide Prevention Australia (SPA) and the Australian Counselling Association (ACA).
The PR6 Framework
Six domains. Practical skills.
RFA is built on the peer-reviewed Predictive 6 Factor Resilience Model — a comprehensive whole-body and brain resilience framework that gives participants a clear structure to understand and support resilience in others.
Composure
Manage emotional responses and maintain composure under pressure. Learn to recognise signs of dysregulation in others and respond effectively.
Collaboration
Build strong relationships and improve verbal and non-verbal communication. Social connection is fundamental to resilience and mental wellness.
Vision
Develop meaning and purpose in life. Help others connect daily work to deeper values and maintain motivation through adversity.
Reasoning
Use higher brain functions to plan ahead, challenge unhelpful beliefs and build a proactively healthy mind.
Health
Support resilience through good physical health. Understand how nutrition, sleep and exercise create the conditions for mental wellness.
Tenacity
Build the ability to persist through challenges, maintain motivation and recover from setbacks with practical, evidence-based skills.

Work Health and Safety
Supports your WHS obligations.
Under the Work Health and Safety Act 2020 (WA) and equivalent legislation nationally, employers have a duty to eliminate or minimise psychosocial hazards — including the cumulative effects of chronic stress, poor social connection and low resilience in the workplace.
RFA provides a structured, evidence-based response to that obligation — equipping your people with the skills to proactively support each other's mental wellness before issues escalate to harm, and demonstrating a preventative approach to psychosocial risk management.
Organisations across all sectors face increasing scrutiny under these obligations. RFA is a defensible, accredited investment in your people and your compliance posture.
What RFA documents
- Attendance record for every participant
- RFA Certificate of Completion (Driven & SPA Accredited)
- Evidence of structured psychosocial risk intervention
- Participant feedback collected electronically
- Post-course report for your WHS records
Training is one control, not the whole answer. It supports your duties — it doesn't discharge them.
